A new rescue vehicle was handed over on 30TH March to help the fire brigade during emergency relief operations.
Roller Team has provided the fire brigade with a fully customised, Kronos 284 M overcab motorhome, on FIAT mechanics with a power output of 180 HP, which provides them with an immediate support point at the scene of the operation in the most critical situations, without having to wait for a base camp to be set up.
Roller Team was chosen because of its ability to design vehicles based on the real needs of the end user, as well as guaranteeing reliability, attention to the materials used and research for suitable technical solutions, such as the ability to insulate the motorhome for use in extreme climates.
It is 7.45 m long, 2.35 m wide and 3.2 m high. Inside, it has four bunk beds with a large wardrobe in the central part at the back. At the front, there is a overcab with three beds that can be separated by curtains, with two side windows and a portlight. Whenever required, the dinette table has an adjustable leg for converting it into a sleeping area to accommodate an extra person. Each bed is equipped with a reading spotlight, USB and 220 V socket.
The large living area can accommodate 5 people, where they can study action plans and figure out the operations with as much space as possible.
The kitchen has a large worktop, with a 1600 W induction hob, as well as a 220 V socket dedicated to the inverter-powered coffee machine. The dining area is completed by a powerful 152-litre Thetford compressor fridge, which stands out for the optimal use of space.
To cool, heat and dehumidify the motorhome, a powerful, practical and easy-to-use roof-mounted air conditioner was installed, to maintain a perfect interior temperature (DOMETIC FRESHJET 3200 brand).
The top-of-the-range FreshJet3200 model has enough power to supply A/C to motorhomes and caravans 8-m long and more.
The equipment that most distinguishes this Roller Team overcab motorhome is the double enclosure on both sides covering the vehicle, which is quick and easy to install.
The side cover has two permanent ventilation openings to reduce condensation, while the windows are fitted with integrated flyscreens that can be zipped shut for extra privacy.
A retractable HD Automatic Satellite Aerial with 16 satellite memories is placed on the roof of the vehicle. Equipped with a DVB-S2 Control Unit with OLED graphic display and 2 buttons to start the satellite search or to lower the disc. It can also be controlled, via Bluetooth, directly from your Smartphone through the App.
The water system has 2 drinking water tanks with a total capacity of 270 l, with external loading, and a 12 V pump and expansion tank.
Roller Team thus helped to strengthen and modernise the vehicle fleet of the national fire brigade, thanks to the wide range of accessories and optional components that contributed to the customisation of the vehicle.
Not to be underestimated is the capillarity of the service network throughout Italy, which allows immediate availability of spare parts.
